Easter at Whistle Pig Hollow

Good luck horseshoe

We spent Easter weekend in Nashville visiting friends and family and eating, shopping and eating some more. My sister Ashley, who blogs over at Life at the Pig, lives in Tennessee on this cute little farm called Whistle Pig Hollow, and our best friends live in Franklin so it was a good time all around! We had Easter lunch at Ash's on Sunday before heading home.

Here are a few Easter Sunday highlights:

We got to play with my sweet nephew Bridger! He is such a happy little guy, even though he looks serious in this photo. He got bubbles in his Easter basket and it pretty much made his day.

This photo is blurry, but I love the look on Don Gatto (the cat's) face.

We also got to meet my brother and his wife's new pup, Banjo.

Ash has a bunch of chickens roaming the property and new baby chicks had just arrived!

However, Don Gatto's brother Mowgli was not impressed.

Our Easter menu was delicious: ginger snap crusted bourbon ham, garlic mashed potatoes, salad with homemade lemon-red wine vinaigrette, roasted Brussels sprouts and asparagus. Dessert was homemade pecan pie and trifle topped with freshly whipped cream. So, so good. Unfortunately, I only got a photo of the ham because I was too busy eating. I will get better at this blogging thing!

The most exciting part of the weekend was that it was the first time my whole family has been together in a couple of years, so it was very exciting. My brother and his wife lived in Alaska for awhile, so traveling to visit each other was expensive and sparse. To celebrate, we took awkward face-stroking photos and lots of family photos!

My brother Brandon and sister-in-law Jen took awkward face-stroking photo 1

Andrew and I took awkward face-stroking photo 2
This looks like a sibling hug, but it is actually a sibling smash.

Happy late Easter from Whistle Pig Hollow! I hope y'all had a great weekend and are having a great week.
